10th European Geoparks Conference, Gea Norvegica Geopark, Norway

16-20 September 2011 – The 10th European Geoparks Conference is been held in Langesund at the southern coast of Norway. This conference is held annually at European Geoparks Network’s member. During this conference, 9 new geoparks has been endorsed with several other existing member of Global Geoparks Network including Langkawi has been given ‘green card’. This means that another 4 years membership in the GGN. However, there are several comments from the Geopark Experts through UNESCO that Langkawi has to look into including conservation issues in Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and collaboration or engaging local community with the geopark.
